The Stage: The International Trend Forum at IMM Cologne

Every year in January, Hall 3.1 at Koelnmesse is transformed into a meeting place for experts and designers who gather to inform trade show visitors about the latest industry trends and give them insights into future developments in home living. Discover interior design ideas and the latest trends at IMM Cologne on between 14th – 20th January 2019.

With The Stage, IMM Cologne provides architects, planners, designers and journalists with an information and networking platform that offers them an overview of current interior design trends.

Stand: 1867, Halle 10.2

Alongside talks on trending topics in colours and materials, presentations on The Stage will also shine a light on the latest developments in interior design. A wide spectrum of issues is on the agenda, ranging from sustainability, business and functionality to room concepts and individualisation, but also covering specialised fields such as 3D printing or how to present an idea on online platforms.

But The Stage is not just a central hub for trend information for professionals and creative partners in the industry. The forum also has an exciting programme in store for the public days of the fair, when interior designers and design professionals will give end consumers useful tips on interior decor. They will also talk about the power of wall decoration and offer advice on healthy sleep. Other topics will include how to turn bathrooms into wellness oases, the impact of colours and the effect of artificial light on our well-being.

Design journalist and trends researcher Frank A. Reinhardt will kick off each day with “Keywords”, an overview of the current trends at imm cologne 2019. With their version of “Das Haus – Interiors on Stage” at imm cologne, the Australian designer couple will be showcasing their concept of contemporary living, while Alfredo Häberli will present his vision for kitchens of the future with “FutureKitchen” at LivingKitchen.

The lectures on the first days of the trends forum at the upcoming imm cologne are due to feature a particularly international set of well-known speakers. For example, Cristian Zuzunaga (Spain), Marie Christine Dorner (France), Daniel Rybakken (Norway) and Eero Koivisto (Sweden) will talk about design, lighting, use of space and function in interior design. Karl Johan Bertilsson (Sweden) will inform the audience about the latest colour trends, and Morten Skjærpe Knarrum (Norway) will take a look at Scandinavian design from the perspective of his native country. Journalist Barbara Friedrich will welcome Italian designer Piero Lissoni as her guest at 2019’s Designer’s Talk.
