SARCDA Africa Is Here!

SARCDA International is rebranding and will launch as SARCDA Africa in March 2020, positioning it as a leading African retail trade show, featuring local and International gift, fashion, décor and design trends.

While International manufacturers and importers of Internationally manufactured products will still be part of the exhibition, we believe that the time has come to shine the spotlight on Africa and the extraordinary creative ingenuity on our continent, hence the birth of SARCDA Africa.

But the 2020 exhibition will still feature all the SARCDA golden oldies like Trans Natal, Pennylane and Supreme Holdings; and many imported products from countries like India and the Philippines. Our aim with SARCDA Africa is to claim Africa’s place alongside international products, not to exclude the latter.

Fittingly, South Africa’s national flower, the Protea, will be the main symbol used to market SARCDA Africa.

“We’ve chosen a dried protea, along with a combination of dried flowers and African décor, in recognition of the dried flower trend that has seen a resurgence this year. The neutral palette of beiges, warm browns and taupes, convey an African feel and the Protea symbolises SARCDA’s resilience and ability to reinvent itself. Not only can Proteas thrive in the harshest of weather conditions, dormant Protea buds can even survive wildfires, to emerge once the fire has gone out.

Trade buyers who visit SARCDA Africa can expect an Afro-chic experience, showcasing the magic of Africa against a classy, modern background.

The SARCDA team is hard at work to ensure that SARCDA Africa is much more than just a name change and one of the new features that buyers can look forward to is the launch of the Best Locally Designed and Manufactured Product competition, in which buyers will vote for the winner.

As part of the rebirth of the exhibition, the decision has been taken to reduce the number of days it takes place to three days, eliminating the weekend days, which were relatively poorly attended since it is primarily a business-to-business exhibition.

SARCDA Africa remains a strictly trade-only exhibition and the 2020 show will take place at Gallagher Convention Centre from Wednesday, 11 March to Friday, 13 March 2020. To apply as an exhibitor or to register as a trade buyer visit www.sarcda.co.za
