Heimtextil Trends – Towards Utopia

Discover tomorrow’s design trends today with the help of Heimtextil and the Trend Space in Hall 3.0.

The first port of call when it comes to interior design trends is the new Trend Space (formerly Theme Park) in Hall 3.0 at Heimtextil, which offers an overview of the latest market developments and the trends for 2019/20.

In cooperation with Heimtextil, international design and trend experts have analysed the latest tendencies and prepared trend themes that will be shown in an extravagant presentation at the fair. Visit the Heimtextil Trend Space in Hall 3.0 – the highlight of the fair!

Toward Utopia

The upcoming Heimtextil 2019 from 8-11 January 2019 in Frankfurt am Main will be asking its visitors the question “What is your utopia?”. Under the motto “Toward Utopia”, the international trade fair for home and contract textiles is presenting five different interactive scenarios of future living concepts – developed by the London-based FranklinTill Studio together with Anne Marie Commandeur from the Stijlinstituut Amsterdam and Anja Bisgaard Gaede from SPOTT Trends & Business.

The 21st century presents us with diverse challenges, with the mega topic, sustainability, continuing to occupy our minds. In response, we look for ways toward a new utopia – a society that respects every single person and their environment, and builds on individual responsibility, positive actions and optimism.

Ask yourself the question: “What is my utopia?” Experience five interactive scenarios for future living concepts at Heimtextil 2019: you’re invited to take delight in the playful PURSUE PLAY scenario, to find refuge from the hectic pace of modern life with SEEK SANCTUARY, to disappear from the screen and the web and take on new challenges with OFF-GRID, to escape into a digital universe with ESCAPE REALITY, and to rethink your attitude to luxury with EMBRACE INDULGENCE.

Escape Reality

“Off-Grid” visualises the need for temporary time-out from the internet and the wish to reconnect with nature; “Escape Reality” is about escaping from the real world into a virtual cosmos; “Seek Sanctuary” represents withdrawing and finding security in minimalist spaces; a nostalgic response to today’s uncertain times is conveyed by “Embrace Indulgence”; and the unconditional hedonistic desire for play is explored by “Pursue Play”. These five globally valid design trends for the 2019/2020 season are being presented by Heimtextil in the newly designed “Trend Space”. As well as the future style worlds, the latest colour trends will also be at the focus here.
