Heimtextil Trends 26/27: Between Craft and Code
The Heimtextil Trends 26/27, a curated vision of future design, take centre stage in a new Trend Arena in Hall 6.1. Developed in collaboration with design platform Alcova Milano, this trend showcase explores the theme “Craft is a verb”, a fusion of traditional craftsmanship and AI-powered creativity. Here, handmade textures, natural aesthetics, and AI-generated colours converge to define what the future of textile design looks like — offering a clear vision for the retail, contract, and industrial sectors.
Innovation in Action: Patricia Urquiola’s “among-all”
Internationally acclaimed designer Patricia Urquiola introduces an immersive installation titled “among-all” in Hall 3.0. This textile-centric experience blends sensory design, sustainability, and AI-driven customisation, demonstrating the potential of textiles to create emotionally intelligent and functional spaces. From retail to hospitality, “among-all” challenges visitors to reimagine interiors that respond to human needs.
A Hub for Holistic Interior Design
Heimtextil continues to strengthen its positioning as the global hotspot for interior design solutions. Hall 3.0 brings together leading suppliers of wallpaper, carpets, curtains, privacy screens, and sun protection under the new Interior Design Concepts: Windows, Wall & Floor platform. Strengthening Smart Bedding: Sleep & Meet
In collaboration with the German Mattress Industry Association, Heimtextil introduces the new Sleep & Meet area in Hall 4.0. This dedicated space brings together top mattress and bedding brands such as Auping Germany, Dormiente, Frankenstolz, and Rummel Matratzen, offering retailers, hoteliers, and volume buyers tailored networking and product discovery opportunities. The initiative reflects a growing demand for strategic assortments in sleep solutions and personalised customer experiences.
Hospitality, Architecture & Healthcare: Expanding the Contract Business
The Interior.Architecture.Hospitality programme, housed in Hall 3.1, continues to grow as a major pillar of Heimtextil. The accompanying Library and Talk Spot serve as knowledge platforms, showcasing functional textiles and product innovations relevant to sectors such as hospitality, healthcare, office, and retail. Expanding Carpets & Flooring Portfolio
Responding to international demand, Heimtextil significantly expands its Carpets & Rugs segment across Halls 11.0, 11.1, 12.0, and 3.0, introducing the complementary Flooring & Equipment product group for non-textile floor coverings. This expansion creates the largest global platform for floor coverings within the trade fair, underpinned by a focused content programme and new synergy potential for buyers and suppliers.
From Fibre to Fabric: A Full Value Chain
The fair remains the world’s largest platform for decorative and upholstery fabrics, featuring industry leaders such as Sunbrella, Edmund Bell, Vanelli Tekstil, and Vescom Velvets in Halls 3.1 and 4.1. Additionally, upstream stages of the value chain are represented in the Fibres & Yarns section, with companies like Indorama Ventures Fibers and Korteks Mensucat supporting innovation from raw materials to finished textiles.
