Tristan du Plessis Decorex’s Designer of the Year for 2024
Tristan du Plessis, the acclaimed interior design virtuoso, has been named Decorex’s Designer of the Year for 2024, adding another prestigious accolade to his illustrious career.
Known for his groundbreaking work at Giselle Miami, the captivating design of Gorgeous George boutique hotel, the impeccable interiors of FYN and collaborations with icons like Grammy Award-winning DJ Black Coffee, Du Plessis has cemented his status as one of South Africa’s foremost creative talents on the global stage.

This year, Decorex Cape Town (June 6-9, 2024, CTICC) and Decorex Joburg (August 1-4, 2024, Sandton Convention Centre) will feature a dedicated Designer of the Year showcase highlighting Du Plessis’s exceptional designs. Attendees can expect to immerse themselves in a curated display of his projects, showcasing his distinctive blend of maximalist luxury and refined aesthetics.

“I feel honoured to be chosen as Designer of the Year 2024 as I have a strong connection to South Africa,” comments Du Plessis. “Even though the majority of my work is international, I consciously choose to collaborate with South African furniture designers and craftsmen tobring my various projects to life, so to be honoured among these talented designers in my home country is certainly something I’m very excited about.”
