The Private House Company: An Unapologetic Celebration of Classic Sophistication
Today’s elegantly proportioned home by The Private House Company is an unapologetic celebration of classic sophistication.
What makes an interior classic and sophisticated? We think it is all about balance and how everything works together to create an elegant ambience – from the finishes used to the furniture ad styling.
In this home, the brief was to create a space to showcase the client’s art collection. Generous sun drenched rooms were dressed in taupe and white. Soft french linen furnishings balance sculpture and marble tabletops.
Working with some of the client’s existing furniture and art, the team from The Private House Company brought in contemporary pieces that resulted in a curated space that manages to feel both luxurious and lived in.
We love the neutral, fresh palette of soft tones with pops of natural greenery and vegetation throughout this home. The client’s artwork certainly takes centre stage here, bringing a sense of refinement and character to each space.
The Private House Company feels a good room is richly layered while maintaining a simple restraint. As such, they are continually inspired by the subtleties of nature and natural light. Their interiors are always sophisticated, warm and timeless. As a small team of phenomenal women, each member of The Private House Company contribute to making it what it is today.
The company also boasts a showroom in Joburg’s design district which houses their imported furniture collections and accessories. Each piece is personally sourced by designer Yvonne O’Brien, making the showroom a reflection of her personal style.
