Let’s Go Bold with Slim Aarons Aesthetics
While everyone is hashtagging Nancy Meyers Aesthetics and praising the beige, cozy, light, elegant, hygge-esque visuals that admittedly seem to dominate the high-gloss homes of the Western Cape, we are advocating a much bolder, louder, more glamorous and wilder look. Be Inspired with Tinzeltown.
A style comeback that keeps popping up like the cocktail cherry in a well shaken whiskey sour: Slim Aarons aesthetics.
This eccentric look screams a bohemian laissez-faire Playboy lifestyle between St. Tropez, Cap Ferrat, Portofino, Ibiza and Palm Springs with pool hangs, caviar blinis and Pucci bikinis.
It’s Sinatra and Evans, Birkin and Bardot, mint juleps, patterned carpets, sunken couches, fondues on lazy daisies, orange mid-century vases and lamps, Moreno glass ashtrays, whiffy caftans, turbans and earrings where cacados could land.
The whole bravado vibes early afternoon tipsy and a careless nonchalance about the fact that smoking isn’t good for you.
It’s all colours, patterns, shapes and vibes. Decadence and lushness in lobster orange, cerulean blue and olive green beyond the limited mediocrity of the petite bourgoise.
