Plascon House Tour: Summer in Sonoma
This beautiful two-story farmhouse is located in Sonoma, California on 20 acres of land. Owners wanted to retain some of the rustic charms of the former home but with all the modern updates to accommodate their needs. It’s the perfect summer home with a cool, calming interior…
A stylish living room
Calming tones set the palette in the interior of this modern farmhouse while a mix of contemporary finishes adds a relaxed yet stylish ambience. In the living room, double sofas and cosy rattan style occasional chairs create symmetry around a central fireplace. Ample storage can be seen here, with a muted wood-look cabinet that adds modern flair and a place to display books and decor in this space. Things are kept simple yet sleek with a feature artwork above the mantel showcasing a nature-inspired print.
The kitchen
Space is a key factor in the kitchen. The room feels open and large with a huge central kitchen island in blue. Gorgeous globe pendant lights add to the feature of the island and built-in cabinets in earthy wood tones complete the room. We love the freshness of this space with lots of natural light pouring in. Metal and leather counter stools add definition.
Open plan dining
The thing we love most about this home is the layout and how all the rooms are connected in a large open plan space. The dining room is no exception and brings with it some of the rustic charm we saw in the living room. Large rattan light fittings set the scene here while a minimalist wood table and chairs bring warmth to the interior.
Mis-matched furniture is the perfect addition to this space – creating the perfect lived-in feel.
It’s all about family life and relaxation in this modern farmhouse. From the stairwell to the living spaces. Light colours and lots of muted wooden finishes add to the lightness of this home. Painted in a charming grey, the stairwell stands out as a beautiful detail in the hallway.
