Perfect Hideaway: Ukuthula House
Ukuthula House in Mjejane Private Game Reserve in Mpumalanga exudes an easy elegance. An atmosphere in part created by its location deep within the African bush and, in part, thanks to its Moroccan-inspired design touches.
From the chequer-board floor in the courtyard – perfect for lazy lunches and dinner soirees – to the rich colour pops found in the rooms reminiscent of a colourful Moroccan tapestry, smartly interwoven to create a rich canvas, here, it is all about relaxing in comfort and style.
Resting on the banks of the Crocodile River in the heart of the Mjejane Private Game Reserve, Ukuthula House, Swahili for “peace”, connects guests to the rugged wilderness of the Kruger National Park, from the sublime comforts of its luxury, five-star lodge.
Fully furnished, the house includes a rooftop bar with a pizza oven, a large deck with pool loungers and game viewing areas, a boma for dining, a yoga deck, a gym, and a library. While a resident game ranger is available for guided nature drives.
Available to rent through Perfect Hideaways, the property can accommodate a total of 13 guests in six luxurious riverfront suites and one kids’ bunk room. Ukuthhula House is a self-catering lodge that offers five-star service to guests, including all housekeeping, meal preparations, stocking the fireplaces and keeping the pizza oven ready, babysitting and storytelling.
