Living Inspired Interiors Monochrome Magic

Tanya Solomon of Living Inspired Interiors showcases her latest residential project.

Based in Gauteng, South Africa, Living Inspired Interiors offers personalised interior design services, including space planning and furniture selection and customisation, to discerning clients in Pretoria, Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban. Owned and operated by Tanya Solomon, the firm is known for its stylish yet sophisticated interiors that ooze a cool, understated glamour, just like its owner.

Tanya’s latest project, of course, is no exception. Located in bustling Sandton, Tanya and her team chose to create modern, clean-lined interiors that exude a cool calm for this project.

“This property is the ideal Jozi headquarter for its busy owner as it combines comfort with elegance,” says Tanya. “There are four bedrooms and ample relaxation areas, including a fully furnished and functional rooftop bar and alfresco dining area for unwinding and entertaining in style.”

“The modern architecture of this house, with highlighted concrete focal points, makes this home unique,” explains Tanya, who chose to compliment the architecture with a neutral palette.

“My love for monochrome magic speaks for itself in this project,” laughs Tanya, who chose to enliven the classic palette of black, grey and white with tan tones.

To add interest, Tanya chose to juxtapose and layer texture: “In the formal living room, for instance, I paired a steel-and-glass coffee table with velvet scatters and an oversized leather sofa”.

“We also created a custom bar with handmade joinery and mirror insets for visual interest and made use of lighting to really accentuate the texture of the stained oak and brass accents in the front.”
