LIM Interiors: contemporary interiors
A Mother City design institution, furniture and homeware store LIM is the standard-bearer of cool interiors.
It’s here in its bustling Kloof Street store that discerning clients can discover its wide range of smart, minimalist designs for contemporary living. From voguish cosmopolitan pieces to classic designs with rustic appeal, LIM is known for its sharp aesthetic and local flair, offering a choice selection of seating, bedroom furniture, storage, tables and decorative accessories.
“At LIM we pride ourselves in elevating contemporary interiors with well-designed pieces, meticulously crafted in our local workshops, keeping generational skill sets alive and well,” says co-owner Marc-Anthony Hewson.
“Part of our philosophy is our design approach of giving artisans creative license in their respective practices. This not only serves as an incubator for innovation but allows each craftsman to showcase his or her skill and add a sense of soul to every piece while exalting its expert quality and functionality, setting us apart from mainstream mass production.
“Our aim is not to reshape the design industry but to usher it back to its handcrafted roots and celebrate the age of the master maker and their apprentice, ultimately contributing to the local economy with job creation and skills development.
“From woodworkers and metal forgers to textile weavers and beyond, at LIM we strive to keep our material selection and production local, playing our part in keeping sustainability in mind. We welcome prospective clients to visit our store and website to view and experience our new collections encompassing this design ethos of the handmade.”
