A Pink Glamorous Penthouse by Greg Natale

80s glamour style combines with the best contemporary design in this glamorous pink penthouse by Greg Natale.

The 4,000 square-foot penthouse apartment is an absolute interior design treasure in the Australian high-class suburb of Toorak, in Melbourn. On a trip to the city of lights, Greg Natale, the worldwide famous interior designer, found inspiration in the Parisian arches and swaths of maroon.

This interior design is a loyal example of Greg Natale’s amazing work, resulting in an unequal project that embraces an 80s glamour style. Art Deco elements thus shine through in various spaces, with a gorgeous mix of pink and maroon finishes that add definition to the home.

Layers of colour and texture

It was all about creating layers and depth in a warm and inviting interior. In fact, the designer opted to take the owners’ love of rich and varied hues to create a sense of luxe layering and embellishment in the space.

The clients are jewellery designers and they wanted their personality and passion to be presented in the project. Contrasting, the space for the residence was originally clean and minimalistic. As such, this ws the absolute opposite of the owner’s style, but the perfect starting point for a creative mind.

Brass detailing can be seen in various spaces. The addition of brass gives the penthouse some shine. However, it also ties into the glamourous feel. As you can see below, pink comes into its own in the dining room, which features Gucci Heron wallpaper. A statement piece that seems to frame the entire room.

Furthermore, in the dining room, Jonathan Adler chairs make a statement in different shades of pink velvet. These sit around a brass Boca do Lobo table under a vintage pendant light. Furthermore, a Greg Natale rug is another foundational element to the scene.

Adding dramatic new elements

New elements included a dramatic mirrored entry, a series of arches to form different spaces, and the addition of a fireplace, joinery, kitchen benchtops, bathroom vanities, finishes, and furnishings throughout.

Blush-painted ceilings make for an intimate setting unlike any other. This playful addition to the penthouse furthermore picks up the slight pink tones of the light oak floors. On the walls, fluted white lacquer panelling adds luxurious detail. It subsequently evokes the spirit of ‘80s-era *Dynasty–*style glamour.

It’s a totally trippy home – in bright tones – yet oozing understated elegance.

The result is a playful interior that captures the gaze and interest of anyone entering the space. Each room is unique, filled with immaculate details and interesting finishes. Furthermore, the home boasts a luxury contemporary style that adequately satisfied the demanding clients, without compromising the designer’s signature style.

In the bathroom vanities, kitchen benchtops, and backsplashes—and with the living room fireplace—pink tones come courtesy of the striking materiality of Calacatta Viola marble. Maroon enriches the palette with lacquered joinery in the kitchen and lacquered fluting in the living room and primary bedroom.
