Incanda: Beautiful furniture and homeware
Know for their quality, handmade furniture, Incanda is a favourite among interior designers looking for a unique piece with a touch of local flair.
Apart from their range of beautiful furniture and homeware, Incanda also offers interior design services to help clients find just the perfect spot for their new pieces.
“We know that you’ve already got existing furniture and furnishings, and we want to help you create a new harmony between the ‘old’ and the ‘new,’” says the team.
“Our interior designers will help you with everything from choosing the right furniture and lighting or advising on a paint colour to helping with soft furnishing and textures such as curtaining, rugs and cushions. “
Recently, in-house designer Lindie Schonken helped a Somerset West-based client decorate her home after some renovation work was completed.
Here, Lindie walks us through the project and her design decisions.
“The client already had some beautiful furniture pieces that she wished to keep. The challenge was to incorporate new elements that would result in a beautiful and interesting mix,” explains Lindie.
To achieve this, Lindie suggested the Incanda Square Arms couch upholstered in a rich Bovine Ginger leather for the living room to add warmth to the space. As well as Clarens chairs, saying: “The Clarens’ blackwood frames compliment the wooden items that the client wanted to keep.”
“The living room is adjacent to the braai area and by incorporating a blackwood Sahara coffee table, with its prominent steel legs, we managed to tie these two areas together. Incorporating a black and white Hertex rug blended well with the coffee table as well as the black-painted picture wall. We agreed on a blackwood Linear plasma unit for this space. Its minimalist design, clean lines and overall understated look helped blend all the elements.”
Lindie then repeated the colours and materials in the dining room and entrance hall for a cohesive look.
“Together we managed to breathe new life into the client’s home and introduced timeless pieces that could one day serve as the foundation for another revamp,” concludes Lindie of this beautiful, collaborative project.
