Overlooking a sheltered bay within Sydney’s world famous natural harbour, this family home by SAOTA efficiently creates private, sheltered spaces for family living, whilst maximising wide outlooks towards the water and beyond. In fact, the Double Bay home was recognised as the TIDA International Home of the Year in 2018.
SAOTA, together with Architects in Association Tanner Kibble Denton (TKD), were awarded at the Trends International Design Awards (TIDA), in the category Australia Architect New Home.
The Trends International Design Awards – TIDA – searches for the best kitchens, bathrooms and homes across a number of the countries where Trends has a presence.
Double Bay is a youthful yet sophisticated family home set in a north-facing cove in Sydney’s vast natural harbour. SAOTA worked closely with TKD, based in Australia to complete the home and ensure SAOTA’s detailed design was delivered and a dream home realised.
Additional design consultants included lighting design by Point of View, landscaping by Wyer & Co. and main contractor Horizon.
The overall impression is one of true elegance – a home exquisitely designed for modern living and ideal for a family. The single residential home was completed in 2017 on a site area of 1 097 m2. The site borders a recreational park and a public pier which juts out into the bay. This element forms one axis for the site whilst a pristine beach, directly in front of the site, forms another. For more visit SAOTA.
