Plascon House Tour: Soulful Melbourne Retreat
The soothing shades and comfy finishes in this Melbourne home ooze a sense of depth and soulfulness. Splashes of prints and soft durable textiles add to the fresh and charming interiors and overall layout.
A simple arrangement of furniture and minimal colour create a restful living room with white, grey and black that is offset by a natural wood colour in almost every space. The magic lies in the details here. From a gorgeous black and white wall mounted print to a luxurious black sofa system, crocheted throw and plush area rug – each item adds texture and intrigue here. A few modern decor accents elevate the design style, with a contemporary metallic floor lamp and wooden sideboard.
Natural, earthy tones and textures create warmth, with an evident Scandinavian style. Wooden floors create added depth and flow from one room to the next. In the passage, a simple arrangement of earthy decor elements are positioned on a side table, above which a striking abstract image is beautifully framed in a prime position here. Here less is certainly more.
The kitchen is striking in its authentically simple and Scandi design style. Two tables (in two-toned wooden finishes) are used instead of one – the perfect space to entertain guests and enjoy family meals together. Wooden floating shelves and a stunning modern white lamp complement the neutral colour palette of this space. Vintage seating adds charm while warm wooden french doors lead outdoors.
The all-white panelled wood interior is simple and clean – adding to the uncluttered and streamlined look of the place. This home is filled with little nooks surrounded by windows where clever little areas have been created to maximise the living spaces.
