Plascon House Tour: Charming Contemporary
This character-filled Swiss home is brimming with collectable prints, beautifully plush textiles and a neutral colour scheme that maintains its sense of calm and style. Based in Zurich, the owners of this modern residence evidently showcase a love of modern furniture with a classic touch.
The living room is filled to the brim with art and framed prints, perfectly positioned on just about any open wall space. Without feeling overly cluttered, the prints are united by a simple, neutral colour palette that brings a sense of harmony and balance to this room. Soft area rugs, a striking plush ottoman and blue sofa completes the space. Pops of gold add vintage style and luxury to this interior, and we particularly love the luminous qualities evident in the contemporary floor lamp with golden shade. Hints of leather, wood, glass and even golden accents work well to bring interest and vibrancy to this area of the home. There is an evident mix of materials and textures that add warmth and modern sophistication here. The bathroom too seems to merge two styles into one. Without feeling dated, a vintage freestanding bathtub takes centre state here with modern black fixtures that are very much on trend at present. A hint of colour and fun comes through the use of detailed print flooring and we love the abundance of natural light that is available in this space, thanks to the striking use of windows and simplistic sheer white drapery here. The bedroom is more classic, in shades of beige, white and brown that give it a traditional and timeless feel. A simple wooden side cabinet is the perfect accompaniment here – picking up on the warmer tones of the colour palette used in this room. The space feels warm and cosy – the perfect retreat for the ultimate in relaxation. Again beautiful white framed windows add to the overall atmosphere of this inviting space. Contact: Plascon Via
