Design Spotlight: Meet Daniella Da Rocha From Da Rocha Interiors

Chatting to us about the premium furniture collections and style influences present at Da Rocha Interiors, designer Daniella Da Rocha shares a passion for all things interiors. Here’s what she had to say about their latest projects, inspirations and trends to look forward to.

How would you describe your personal style?

Luxurious and contemporary.

What qualities define your brand and business?

High-end quality and well established business, offering high-end design, luxury pieces with a full interior styling and design service

What sets your brand apart in the industry at the moment?

We offer handcrafted high-end quality furniture to suit a variety of styles and provide our clients unique pieces of luxury. A full turnkey solution that completes and embodies all the senses into a space with every element meticulously and expertly executed.

What is the most recent purchase you’ve made for your home and why?

Essence by Da Rocha – a high-end, Fragrance diffuser and a premium fragrance collection that is exclusive to Da Rocha Interiors. These have a great range, from smaller area capabilities such as a single room size, to larger open areas around 150m2. We can also cater to the commercial industry with capabilities up to around 500m2. Essence will be launched at the end of September and will be an amazing attribute to anyone’s home, awakening the senses and adding another dimension to a home’s living experience.

What one design element, trend or furniture item can you not live without?

My Da Rocha furniture. Our ranges are a collective of my natural design approach, and filter down into all our products. We are always on trend and contemporary, but always feature a timeless characteristic to any piece we create, so any item you purchase is one to that is of distinction.

What design influence has had the greatest influence on your work and business?

European / Portuguese style. It is deeply engraved in our Portuguese heritage and is currently making a huge comeback to the design industry.

What has been one of the most challenging projects you have worked on?

Any project that is across borders has its challenges, but I’m up for it! There is always an opportunity to bring a new dynamic to over boarded clients that sometimes is not able to be created within their own borders. Our European approach to interior design also adds a certain flair to the home that is ordinary unmatched.

How would you describe the design industry in South Africa at present?

Quite cut throat, but we truly believe and have witnessed the great demand for our exclusive products and unique service. Providing a superior service, and a an unmatched quality in hand crafted pieces will never be ignored by a discerning buyer/client.

What trends do you think we should keep an eye on in upcoming seasons?

* Brass – anything and everything.

* Trimmings and natural textiles, with organic sustainable design and materials.

* Botanical prints are here to stay.

* Black and dark furniture including kitchens are on the rise.

What exciting projects do you have planned within the next year?

We are busy with an exclusive project in an upmarket Mozambique suburb as well as a few SA projects, including Jhb and CT. We are also in line to work in Portugal on a heritage home being built in the greater Porto area which we are extremely excited about.
