Da Rocha Timeless Interiors
Yesteryears Craftsmanship, Today’s Masterpiece.
Built on passion and drive, family-owned and operated Da Rocha Interiors was started by husband-and-wife team Arlindo and Ines da Rocha in the early 90s.
“In 1994 I began manufacturing customised furniture. One year later Da Rocha Cabinet Maker CC was registered as a company and a factory was established in the south of Johannesburg. The business became so successful that my wife, Ines, left her job to assist with the expansion of the company,” Arlindo explains.
Today, the couple’s daughter, Daniela, is also part of the team. A qualified interior designer, she runs the interior-design section of the company.
And with great success.
The company’s interior-design portfolio includes many choice residential and commercial projects, including hotels and corporate offices.
Recently-completed projects include Maphisa Residence, a striking contemporary home in graphic black and white, as well as Ekiyr Residence, another modern design in muted tones punctuated by pops of colour and metallic accents. While upcoming projects include work at La Vue Residence in Val de Vie in the Cape Winelands.
“Over the years our greatest achievements have been the creation of our high-quality furniture and client satisfaction in the many homes situated locally and nationally, and even internationally,” Arlindo says.
Of course, a lot has changed since those very first days but Arlindo and his team are passionate about the future of the company – and the industry.
“Following the recent devaluation of the South African currency, furniture imports have become prohibitively priced in most instances, prompting the need for high-quality, stylish locally-manufactured furniture. The challenge is in offering a total solution within the furniture industry through a complete range of contemporary and classic pieces, and services packaged for the maximum satisfaction of client’s requirements. This may vary right through turnkey to specific project branches, encompassing interior decorating, design, manufacture and installation. Customer satisfaction and total solution form the backbone of our business.”
