Riedel Veloce – The Lightness Of Pleasure
Riedel glasses are widely regarded as some of the world’s finest glassware for wine appreciation. They are crafted by Riedel Crystal, a family-owned Austrian company that has been in operation for over 260 years, specializing in glassware. The company is known for its innovation in creating glass shapes specifically designed to enhance the flavours and aromas of different types of wine.
Wine-lovers worldwide understand that RIEDEL wine glasses are developed in different shapes and sizes, for specific grape varieties. Only such advanced machine production can guarantee such precise glass design language, in harmony with the respective profile of the grape variety.
The beauty of Riedel’s NEW Veloce range is that it looks and feels handmade! This glass collection is, in fact, produced by machine, using state-of-the-art technologies and is a true precision tool.
Maximilian Riedel selected the Italian name “Veloce”, meaning “swift”. In a way it is a homage to technology, as glassmaking by hand is now a declining craft.
RIEDEL Veloce is an impressive development based on state-of-the-art technology. The glass is taller than the RIEDEL Extreme collection and has a thinner stem and finer bowls. A specially developed machine, at RIEDEL’s Weiden factory, enables us to draw stems that are the equal of those made by hand by a master glassmaker. The base, with a diameter of 100 mm, is a new standard for large glass shapes and is the maximum that can be produced by machine.
The weightlessness of RIEDEL Veloce is extraordinary. There is a sense that it has been crafted from gossamer. The balance and feel is perfect, haunting and elusive.
Recognizing the evolution of modern wines, the Riedel family has adapted the glass shapes for Cabernet /Merlot and for Riesling, following an intensive new round of comparative tastings.
RIEDEL Veloce is the perfect glass for wine connoisseurs, and is dishwasher safe.
And, like all RIEDEL glasses, RIEDEL Veloce presents the wine at its best!
