Plascon House Tour: Farmhouse
This renovated farmhouse in Yonne was given a new lease on life with beautiful touches of natural wood, open plan areas and amplified lighting and windows that have created a strikingly bright, light and happy abode.
The exposed wooden beams throughout steal the show in this residence. High arched ceilings are reminiscent of an old farmhouse, but designers chose to open up the interior to create flow and symmetry between rooms. The beams are the common factor, bringing depth and touch of warmth to this renovated farmhouse. As much as they are functional, the wooden pillars and beams are also visually appealing, adding to the charm and character of this home. Stone flooring brings an earthy ambience and cool shades of mint, grey and white create a tranquil living space. The wooden theme carries right through to the bedroom, where striking wooden pillars adorn the ceiling and walls. White walls and angled ceiling create a fascinating space, along with light wood flooring that is perfectly suited to this light and airy master suite. A mix of scatters on the bed is what adds zest and colour to this otherwise neutral space. The bathroom comes alive in patterns with the striking use of tiles that bring with it a vintage print in bursts of playful colour. Two round mirrors are suspended off ropes above the bathroom vanity. The mirrors are a great tool for reflecting the playful print of the tiles, and a vintage wooden vanity is offset by modern sanitaryware. Contact: Plascon via
