Top tips to help you prepare your home for Spring
Spring is almost here. We can already hear the birds chirping early in the morning and soon enough we will see and smell the array of beautiful flowers blossoming around the country. With Spring comes time for change. It’s almost time to pack away those winter duvets and heaters and do a thorough Spring clean of our homes. Here we share some top trends and tips of the season to help you get your home ready for Spring!
Refresh your bedroom Say goodbye to those winter sheets and heavy throws. Spruce up your bedroom with lighter colours to mark the onset of Spring. White is always a classic, fresh colour to brighten up the bedroom. Light, airy linens with subtle floral tones are great additions in a Spring-styled bedroom. Add a vase on your bedside table with a few fresh flowers to carry the scent and visual appeal of the season through your bedroom. Fabulous foliage It is the print of the season. Whether in fabric, wallpaper or home decor and accessories, add vibrant plants and foliage prints to your home to welcome in Spring. Tip: Add a few cut banana leaves or palm leaves to a vase in your living room – an easy way to embrace the trend and welcome foliage into your living areas. Introduce lighter, pastel colours Move away from dark and romantic moodier winter hues. Instead, brighten your home with lighter colours and pastel tones that are the epitome of a Spring ambience. Replace those dark block out winter curtains and drapes with lighter textiles in brighter colours. Your entire space will be fresher and ready for the season ahead. A good old Spring Clean Nothing says Spring better than a good Spring cleaning of your home. Dust off all those darker corners that were unnoticed during the winter and pack away all your winter clothing to make room for lighter pieces to suit the season. Have your area rugs and carpets deep cleaned and opt for a lighter, clutter free space to welcome in Spring.
Embrace the outdoors Spring is about bringing the beauty of the outdoors into your interiors. Welcome natural light into your spaces and deck out your outdoor living spaces in light, airy tones. Keep it simple for a fresher atmosphere. Add a few sprigs of Spring branches to your dining table or lounge and welcome the sweet scents of the outdoors with floral notes in scented candles and diffusers.
