Kiwinet: Conservation & Sustainability
Embracing sustainability means nurturing our planet’s resources for a brighter future. As we tread lightly upon the Earth, we sow the seeds of harmony between humanity and nature. This is why environmental issues and a sustainable approach are very close to the heart of Robyn Lavender, Director of Kiwinet Mosquito Nets.
As an environmentally conscious company, Kiwinet is committed to protecting the Earth wherever possible. Every little thing we do makes a difference – by reducing consumption of extracted raw materials such as fossil fuels and precious metals and minimising waste sent to landfills.
Big News
As of mid 2023, KiWiNeT has GONE SOLAR! This is a game-changer for both its draw on reducing fossil fuels and the fact that production is back in full swing.
Further to this – From the very beginning, Kiwinet has re-cycled wherever possible. All plastic from inbound rolls of netting and fabric is re-used and only once in 25 years has plastic been purchased to cover an export order of frames on dispatch.
All mosquito netting off-cuts are up-cycled, re-purposed and re-used to minimise waste and thus landfill.
For example: Fairy skirts, Washing Bags, POP Bag’s (Pass on Plastic) for loose veggie purchases, laundry delicates wash bags, small item travel storage bags and more.
Selvedges are used for binding packaged nets. Furthermore, with every order dispatched the company includes a POP bag as a gesture of appreciation and hope that they will be used as a reminder and with conscious environmental thought by the end recipient. They are available for purchase and sport beautiful bright Shwe-Shwe and other off-cut cotton finishes with a selfedge drawstring toggle for ease of use.
Kiwinet produces according to actual demand. Lead time might be a little slower, but the brand does not fall into the overproduction and overconsumption trap.
Reducing, re-using, recycling and upcycling waste contributes to job creation. Kiwinet is proud to support the local team and communities served with this additional opportunity to generate income.
KIWINET proudly EMPLOYs | SOURCEs | PRODUCEs locally
Together we can make a difference.
