When she couldn’t find any good quality mosquito nets for their children, she decided to make her own, and Kiwinet was founded as her friends and family started placing orders for themselves.
A personal approach
Robyn Lavender, a Stanford resident bought the business in 1998 when the ‘Kiwi’ left the area and from cutting fabric on the floor of a small Wendy House on a farm, employing a part-time seamstress with one sewing machine, the business has grown to include a staff of 25 cutters, seamstresses, tailors, carpenters, designers and quality controllers all supported by a strong administrative team.
The workshop is guided by Robyn’s hands-on personal approach to become a household name within the Interior design and Décor industry, with elegant, quality nets installed in all parts of the country from private homes to luxury lodges throughout Africa, the Indian Ocean Islands, the Caribbean and across Europe.
