Today there is a special cloud in Italy which comes alive under the skies of Turin. It is a cloud of over 30 thousand square meters which produces ideas and work, food and culture. It is a cloud-wide open on the world which has the strong taste of Italian coffee. In April 2018, the new Nuvola Lavazza was inaugurated in Turin: much more than the new company headquarters of acclaimed Lavazza, it is a special place where authentic Italian coffee can be explored and shared with the world.
It is a quadrilateral with many souls that, like clouds, can take on different forms. In fact, Nuvola Lavazza is an avant-garde office, designed for the well-being of its employees and with the utmost respect for the environment. It boasts a signature restaurant, a symbol of a new philosophy of cheerful and informal sharing of food, of a new vision of contemporary Italian cuisine. And it is also a museum that accompanies visitors to discover the coffee universe, its rituals and Lavazza’s success story in the world of communication. Not only that: Nuvola is a square open to the city, it is the possibility to admire the remains of an ancient early Christian basilica inside the archaeological area. It is a large event space to host debates, congresses, cultural, musical and artistic events. It is a bistro designed for employees, but open to locals and, finally, the headquarters of the IAAD, the Institute of Applied Arts and Design with its more than 700 young creative talents.
The result is 30,000 square meters hosting offices and so much more! The Nuvola Lavazza embodies the values and over 120 years of the company’s history. The project, designed by architect Cino Zucchi, gives a new face – redeveloped and smart – to the Aurora district and is designed to inspire people, put energy into circulation and activate dialogue. It offers experiences related to culture and society with taste and business. Nuvola Lavazza showcases “future roots “: it is, in fact, an ecosystem of places that takes strength from the past, energy from dialogue and looks beyond, inspired by the continuous need for innovation.Pedrali adds to the look:
Nolita armchairs designed by Mandelli Pagliarulo were chosen for the Nuvola Lavazza terrace, a collection of outdoor seating which recalls the origins of a historic course, started by Mario Pedrali in 1963 with his first metal garden chairs. To complete the look, the Nolita tables, lightweight and easy to be handled, were included. Made of steel tube this ensures the greatest strength and durability. A perfect collection to liven up open-air conviviality and relaxed moments of pleasure, in line with the spirit of the company, eager to create a challenging, comfortable and sharing working place.
