Plascon House Tour: Stylish Soho Loft Living
What happens when you have one large undefined space for living? Today’s stylish Soho loft in New York shows us how to achieve defined spaces and incredible style in a beautiful open plan layout.
This loft conversion took only four months to complete and was designed to create a generous open space for living, cooking, dining, and music. The result was a total transformation.
Designers opted to create zones – various spaces in the larger loft for specific tasks such as dining, lounging and studying. This was achieved through cleverly crafted cabinetry walls which not only provide ample storage, but also separate the spaces inside the home into fully functional and semi-private rooms.
The building’s history is kept in tact with gorgeous original stamped tin ceilings, exposed pipes, and columns that hint at an era past. Despite being such an open space, the furniture layout feels complete, with woody tones that bring a richness and depth to the space – all while still leaving plenty of open space, which highlights the large-size rooms.
Matt black gives the powder room a more modern feel. It’s a dose of drama that adds to the overall mood of sophistication in this stunning loft apartment.
The bedroom too takes on a very contemporary feel with tones of black and white. Custom artwork becomes a feature behind the bed while soft furnishings such as a rug, upholstered headboard and linen softens the space, creating a calm and inviting room to relax in.
