Plascon House Tour: A Chic Scandi Space
Today’s modern Scandi-style home blends dark, moodier tones with bright open spaces and contemporary finds. Located in northwest London, this large home boasts four levels, complete with five bedrooms, a cinema, gym and mezzanine library! A dreamy, intriguing and totally chic family home!
A collection of modern art fills this home, as evident in the colourful living room where art and pops of colour fill the walls and wooden display area. To complement the vibrancy of the art, colourful scatters offset the white walls and bring a freshness to this contemporary setting. A customised corner sofa, in grey, is a versatile and timeless addition to this space and works well to pare-down the bursts of vibrant colours that pervade this space through the modern artworks on display.
A gorgeous feature kitchen certainly is the heart of this home, overlooking the garden through fold-away doors that can open up to the lush exterior and make this room feel even bigger than it is. Overhead, a lofty atrium adds height to this space and makes it feel airy, bright and inviting.
The owners wanted a Malibu beach house vibe. The solution was to extend out while also digging down into what had been ‘a dingy cellar, with barely enough space to stand up in’ to create a generous space fit for family life.
Gorgeous oak flooring extends into the dining area. A well-lit space which also opens up to the exterior of this home. Wooden wall panels, art, customised joinery and an interesting pairing of colourful chairs complete this beautifully modern interior.
The bedroom takes on a more dramatic and bold ambience with darker shades of wood panelling that brings a richness to this space. Dark teal, matte black and brass work wonderfully to enrich this master bedroom. A touch of glamour is evident with the brass detailing around the bed and pops of metallic finishes sprawled throughout this room, from the finish of the framed artwork overhead to some of the smaller decorative accessories used to add to the honey-tones used throughout.
