Plascon House tour: Monochromatic Living

It’s easy to get stuck in a monotone rut in a quest for simple living and a more minimalist, clutter-free lifestyle. With the right styling and key furniture, today’s home is elevated and stylishly moves from being a monotone space to a warm, family-friendly monochromatic beauty.

Simplicity is a modern trend in interior design but can often overwhelm a space with stark white interiors and a lack of warmth. What we love about this neutral family home is that it showcases a number of stand-out features along with hints of metal, wood and contemporary lighting that bring a renewed sense of energy to the home.

The ambience is described as timeless, quiet but with a playful wink – full of white walls, classic furniture and charming art. A very serene and soothing space.

A stunning fireplace takes centre stage in the living room, carefully styled with neutral black and white frames and copper accents for a pop of colour and vibrancy. The room comes together beautifully with modern wooden furniture including contemporary lighting. The comfort factor is elevated here with the inclusion of a comfy throw on the sofa, along with a stylish, neutral rug underfoot.

The bedroom also boasts a calming colour palette with white walls and black and wooden elements that continue throughout the space. It certainly feels less staged and more lived-in and natural. A simple wooden sideboard bookcase of sorts is used as the bedside table – complete with books, greenery and a few natural decor accessories that add to the overall sense of simplicity here.

The dining room too is timeless with a solid wood table and beautifully curated chairs in natural and black finishes. The simple black pendant above the table is striking and ideal in this space, complementing the tones and style of the entire home.
