Plascon House Tour: Modern Living
Contemporary designs keep changing but the thing that remains on trend and gives a space a modern feel is the mix of interesting pieces and materials. In today’s house tour, a blend of beautiful finishes and modern artwork adds style and modern flair to every room.
In the living room, a bold oversized artwork lends the space a dramatic ambience. A metallic light fitting adds to the contemporary look of this space and we love the blend of rustic and comfy furniture in this room. Wide windows allow for plenty of natural lighting to flow through this space and that comfy low-lying sofa beckons us in!
In the kitchen, modern floating shelves offer functional storage and also points of interest in this space – complete with greenery, books and vintage appliances that bring style to this space. Streamlined white cabinets extend from the floor to the ceiling and add to the modern look, but a touch of wood helps to soften this interior.
Wooden flooring extends to the bedrooms where rustic elegance adds to the overall look of this space. Art on the wall above the bed adds to the simple colour palette with pops of green and orange that are cleverly echoed in the bed linen. A modern bedside lamp contrasts with the use of a vintage wooden table as bedside storage.
In the second bedroom, a low lying bed in solid wood adds depth and contrast against the white walls. Touches of yellow and dark grey infuse colour and life into this otherwise calming and serene environment.
The bathroom is minimalist and uncluttered with floor to ceiling tiles in white and a corner window that maximises the use of light in this space. An open shower fills the entire space and concrete flooring adds a touch of urban sophistication. A vintage tub painted matte black is both modern and eclectic in this space. Overall a stylish room that is both simple and functional.
