Plascon House Tour: A Compact Beach Getaway
Today’s beach house featured in Marie Claire Maison is a cosy place that calls you to relax, where you can lounge in sunny yellow designer chairs and enjoy the sea or step down the steps to frolick on the beach.
The ground floor has become a huge living room that is organized around the central fireplace which is a beautiful feature in this room. In the living room, lit by a vintage lamp, Scandinavian fabric seating comes to life. The coffee table is made from gorgeous maritime pine and adds to the overall aesthetic of this room.
The main lounge overlooks the courtyard of the summer dining room. This is an idyllic spot to curl up on the large corner sofa and enjoy the indoor-outdoor living with greenery just beyond the doors.
Behind the counter, the kitchen is lined with panelling. The table in the dining room with blond oak has two extensions that can accommodate up to 10 guests for convivial meals, under the lights of industrial suspensions. The chairs are from Merci – the Tolix model.
Slatted pine is a feature on the exterior of this beach home, painted red all the way around the house and yard. The outdoor dining area consists of a folding table and chairs to match the vibrant red exterior. The frame cathedral is enhanced by the contrast between the colour of raw wood and painted dark grey sections.
Upstairs, the room is decorated in shades of grey that create a relaxing atmosphere. The bed podium was custom created by local carpenters and home storage drawers for compact storage. Placed by the window, owners can admire the breathtaking views of the Bay of Arcachon. The room is separated from the bathroom with sliding doors.
