Today’s modern coastal home packs a punch in bright artwork and a celebration of bright colours. From a velvet sky blue sofa to hints of coral, tangerine and mustard – this Australian home is gutsy and bold in striking colours that add contemporary flair to every room.
This residence is family-friendly and each space has been designed with the family in mind. A bright living space is cosy and colourful, complete with bespoke artwork on the walls and a playful mix of bright furnishings, from that eye-catching blue couch to hints of mustard and pink in the scatters and throws incorporated into this bold space.
The hardwood flooring further adds to the richness of this space, and we love the blend of natural materials here, with wood, rattan, leather and pops of natural potted greens for added freshness.
The A-frame structure of the bedroom adds another fascinating dimension to this home. Kept simple in white wood, the furniture pops against this neutral backdrop and adds a wonderful balance of colour and texture here. A gorgeous hanging chair suspends from the rafters and a low-lying bed is the ideal choice here, poised in the middle of the room.
It’s all about a balance of texture and colour in this home. We see the playful nature coming through in the choice of colourful bed linen – a mix of textural elements and pops of bright shades work together here. A simple wooden bedside table with porcelain top adds to the style of this space and the bedside lamp acts as a dual hanging spot for some colourful jewellery.
Wood-look tiles are on trend in the bathroom. Against a darker green hexagon floor tile, the wood-look feature wall adds contrast! A brass-framed mirror picks up on the warmer honey tones reflected in the wood-look finish and the oversized circular shape of the mirror further adds to the playful contrast of shapes in this fun bathroom – and the unconventional choice of a circular mirror with rectangular and hexagonal tiles.
The kitchen is our favourite spot in this home. An ideal family space with ample seating and space for meal preparation. We also love the vintage styled pendants above the kitchen table – adding some rustic charm to this fascinating space.
