Plascon House Tour: A Charming Coastal Cottage

Located on the coast of Prince Edward Island in Canada, you’ll find this pretty blue and white cottage with beautiful red shutters. It is a tiny home at only 70sqm but the ideal holiday location for a small family.

Let’s take a step inside this quaint cottage…

Cosy yet oh so stylish, the interior is beautifully decked out in a mix of modern and elegant furniture and decor. We love the bright space created with a white backdrop. In the bedroom, white, striking yellow and a touch of black accents pull the look together beautifully. Striped fabrics and a blend of fabrics give depth to this space, and how gorgeous is that yellow-framed bed!

The kitchen is blissful in white with accents of blue that are idyllic and reminiscent of the ocean. Modern window shutters are given a more quaint cottage feel with curtaining in a playful crab print to tie into the home’s coastal theme and colour palette. A gorgeous white hexagonal mosaic tile is used as a striking backsplash and we are in love with the oversized country-style sink used in this space. Far from kitsch, this room feels alive and fresh in simple tones that still connect us to life at the coast.

It is full-on coastal living in the bathroom as a deep blue features prominently throughout this space. Decor acts as an ode to the seaside with shells and an artwork that takes us into the deep blue. Again, white, yellow and black accents are used together here and we love the blend of colours and how our eyes are drawn in by the careful choice of bright tones throughout.

Vintage elegance shines through in the living spaces. A gallery wall of antique artwork fills the main wall – the images all connected to life at the sea. A simple white side table serves as a place for some of the owner’s collectables including books, candles and more that tie into the laid-back cottage charm of this little abode.
