Plascon House Tour: A Victorian Villa Renovation
Today’s north London home has been fully reconstructed to let the light in. A once dark and dingy Victorian abode is given a new lease on life with a magnificent renovation into a comfy light-filled family home.
In the kitchen, owners opted for modern finishes including bespoke seamless cabinetry and a feature island at the heart of this simple space. The island unit was designed by the owner, who is a builder, and has a composite-stone worktop, all beautifully bookmarked, as if it were made of solid marble.
Gaggenau appliances add sophisticated appeal in the kitchen with a statement Hansgrohe tap for a touch of class. Aluminium framed doors open up to a garden and also work wonderfully to ensure that the kitchen is bright and welcoming with an abundance of natural lighting in this room.
The dining room is beautifully minimalist and sleek in design. Modern wood table and chairs are perfectly positioned in the centre of this space. Potted greenery and succulents add a natural touch to this room.
In the living space, a centrally positioned fireplace offers the potential of warmth and comfort that extends at all angles. Here, soft furnishings including a fluffy area rug, upholstered ottoman and sofa bring a sense of comfort and warmth. The blue Globo box on the ottoman is by Jonathan Adler.
In the master bedroom, a gorgeous ornate bed adds detail and definition to this space. We love the light colours, which complement the light tone of wooden flooring and the neutral colour palette that extends to the bedding.
The ensuite bathroom is equally striking with a feature tub enhanced by traditional Victorian elements including ornate mirror, chandelier and a brick fireplace and mantel. Definitely a place of relaxation and luxury living; a room where contemporary and traditional elements work together to add to the overall look.
