Plascon House Tour: A Space of Light And Calm
Contemporary homes are all about the feeling of tranquility and enjoyment. Its a place of relaxation where you are free to be you. Today’s home was once an old Victorian villa which has been transformed into a space of light and calm. The perfect family abode for peaceful living.
Calming tones have been used throughout this home. From the kitchen to the living room – neutral colours with soft wooden tones lend this residence a soothing and tranquil ambience.
A beautiful island unit steals the show in the kitchen. The island unit was designed by the owner, who is a builder, and has a composite-stone worktop, all beautifully bookmarked, as if it were made of solid marble.
The dining room too is kept simple and calm with concrete-look flooring, soft wooden furniture, high ceilings, copper lighting and fresh greenery for a burst of colour here.
The living room feels casually elegant with a central fireplace that splits up the room and ensures ample heating throughout this open plan space. Soft furnishings add comfort with a mix of materials including wood, leather seating, upholstered ottoman and fur rug underfoot. This gives the space depth and a tactile aesthetic that is beautifully modern and comfy.
The home is reminiscent of its previous life with ornate ceiling details and cornices that hint at an era past. But together with modern amenities and beautifully sleek finishes, the overall impression is one of designer quality and comfort.
The bedroom is serene and light – in simple tones and a palette of white which makes for a bright and inviting space.
