Plascon House Tour: A Scandi Delight in Pastel Tones
Today’s Victorian home in Kent ticks all the right boxes as a cool Scandi family abode – with a mix of pastels, wall art and interesting finishes. It is a cheerful, bright and welcoming space.
A palette of cool white sets the tone in the living room. High ceilings, ornate lighting and beautiful shutters around arched windows create an elegant backdrop for family living. Bold brown leather couches pop against the light interior – the perfect addition to a family space.
A mix of old and new, modern and contemporary, fill this living space. A beautiful vintage gold-framed mirror adds a touch of elegance above the mantel while a gallery wall of contemporary art adds a welcome contrast from the traditional feel of the room. Built in storage and shelving provides much needed space to display some of the owner’s favourite finds while a stylish swivel chair – again in leather – makes for a casual Scandi statement in this room.
The kitchen is inspired by a soft palette of blues and whites, echoed through the choice of cabinetry, artwork on the walls and even the use of complementary curved tiles as an interesting backsplash above a bold blue stove. Various shades of blue and white work to define this room and we love how everything works together to create a calm, soothing space.
The dining room is Scandi cool, with a gorgeous feature chandelier that adds a hint of blue and gold to this colour palette. Pale pink brings a different dimension to this space, painted on the walls above the doorways. Raw wood furniture, together with a mix of pastel seating keeps this space light and airy.
A few quirky touches bring a sense of playfulness to the bedroom. A stack of old magazines becomes a makeshift side table while a fun wallpaper of books adds life to the wardrobe cupboards. This space is kept clear and restful. The only clutter is printed on the wallpaper, so it never needs tidying up.
