Plascon House Tour: A Fashion Designer’s Urban Retreat

High ceilings, pops of colour in every room, along with a mix of modern finishes and traditional elements makes for today’s gorgeous yet eclectic New York home.

This five-storey brownstone New York abode belongs to Nanette Lepore, fashion designer extraordinaire. And she has certainly left her mark on every room. The home feels fresh and appealing with many playful twists to the interior that add interest as we move from one room to the next.

The library room feels large and regal – with tall wooden ceilings that add a new dimension to this space. A crystal shop chandelier is centred in the middle of the room and long flowing blue drapes adds a burst of colour against the wooden tones used on the walls and ceiling. Tall windows allow a flood of light into this otherwise dark room. Here, a mix of bright and traditional furniture, including a striking chesterfield sofa adds to the quirky nature of this space.

The kitchen is bold and unmissable with its glossy red cabinets that demand attention. The fiery red tone injects the space with energy. It certainly is quirky, fresh and unexpected.

The dining area feels a little more toned down with a white backdrop and cream cornices and edging. However, a wall of colourful portraits add a punch of colour and life into this space. Beautiful upholstered chairs and a solid wood table round off this designer space.

The master bedroom is filled with interesting finds including art, books, colourful rugs and more. An upholstered love seat creates a cosy little nook at one end.

Even the guest bedroom is a feast for the eyes. This space is full of intricate surfaces that bring a subtle opulence to the cool blue and white décor – inlaid tables, a stonking metal pendant light, rich velvet and a shaggy rug.
