Easter Cake Baking Ideas in Lockdown
We may be in lockdown but we can still celebrate Easter with some decadent home baked goods and these easy Easter cake ideas you can try at home.
Decorate with chocolate eggs
If you’ve managed to score some chocolate Easter eggs as a part of your Easter shopping during lockdown, then why not make these a part of your table and Easter cake decorations.
A simple chocolate cake decked in a variety of chocolate eggs will certainly make for a beautiful feature on your table. Let your eggs become the star of the show. A simple microwave cake covered in chocolate ganache and chocolate eggs will certainly be a winner!
If you don’t have icing sugar, you can also create your own. Pour two cups of regular granulated sugar into a blender and blend on high until it is powdery. Use as you would icing sugar. Add food colouring in your favourite tones, or whatever you have in your pantry, and voila… coloured icing for a great Easter cake in lockdown.
Experiment with Bundt Cake
Why not create something truly unique and special for your Easter table! We love Bundt cakes.
What is a Bundt cake? A Bundt cake is a cake that is baked in a Bundt pan, shaping it into a distinctive doughnut shape. The shape is inspired by a traditional European cake known as Gugelhupf, but Bundt cakes are not generally associated with any single recipe.
You can play around with different flavours and create your very own Easter bundt cake.
This gorgeous berries and lemon curd cake will certainly tantalise the taste buds. Complete with two cups of berries baked in and sprinkled on top of tangy lemon curd whipped cream! Yum! Find the complete recipe here.
Another special and decadent cake is this bold Triple Citrus Bundt cake. The bright orange, lemon, and lime flavosrs of this beautiful bundt pair perfectly with a batch of mimosas. Find the recipe here.
