Celebrity Homes: Leonardo DiCaprio Purchases $7.1 Million LA Home
Known to fans around the world for his stellar on-screen performances, Leonardo DiCaprio is a much-loved actor who also has another passion – real estate. He recently purchased a $7.1 million residence in LA’s Los Feliz neighbourhood. This home adds to an already impressive collection of amazing homes owned by the celebrity.
Celebrity Owners
This latest acquisition is a 1928 Spanish home bought over from Modern Family actor Jesse Tyler Furguson. According to reports, Jesse and his husband Justin Mikita bought the home in 2013 and recently sold the property to Leonardo DiCaprio, who is known to be a fan of Spanish-style properties.
However, Jesse and now Leonardo are not the only ones to have called this four-bedroom house their home. According to the media, this stylish LA residence has also been previously owned by Gwen Stefani and Robert Pattinson.
Step Inside
The house features four large bedrooms and five baths. It has been described as the perfect blend of contemporary and rustic, with beautiful pops of sky-blue paintwork, terracotta tiles and plant pots, and state-of-the-art finishes.
Inside, there’s a two-story formal entry, a gorgeous library with soaring ceilings, stained glass windows and romantic balconies. From the upstairs level, you can look down into the library and living room which boasts 25 ft ceilings and a beautiful stone fireplace.
Although many period features can be seen throughout the home – inside and out, not everything has been kept traditional. Some of the bedrooms and bathrooms have been fully modernised. It’s the perfect mix of old and new.
Furthermore, many of the rooms open up to beautifully landscaped terraces, which of course, was a huge selling point. Located at the top of a hill, the views are quite spectacular. Outside, there is a pool and spa as well as a detached meditation room, and the whole estate is gated, making it so secluded.
Reports suggest that DiCaprio won’t actually be staying in this beautiful home. Instead, he purchased the property for his mother – Irmelin Indenbirken. Mommas’ boys better take note!
