6 Reasons Your Dyson Airwrap Keeps Turning Off

The Dyson Airwrap is an innovative styling tool that can help create beautiful, voluminous, and smooth hairstyles. Unfortunately, there are instances where the device may unexpectedly switch off. This can be an annoyance and a source of frustration for many users, so it is important to understand why this issue occurs and what you can do to resolve it.

In this article, we will explore the possible reasons why your Dyson Airwrap keeps turning off. By the end of it, you should have a better understanding of the issue and how to troubleshoot it.

Damaged Power Code or Plug

One of the main reasons your Dyson Airwrap won’t work is because of a damaged power cable or plug. Check your power cord for any physical damage, and look for signs of wear or tear. If you notice any fraying, tears, or exposed wires, then it is likely that the cable needs to be replaced. In addition, check the plug adapters to ensure they are securely connected to the outlet and the device.

To fix this issue, the best solution is to purchase a new power cord and plug adapter specific to your model of Dyson Airwrap. Make sure to double-check that the power cable and plug are compatible with your device before purchase.

When replacing the power cord and plug, make sure to follow the manufacturer’s instructions for proper installation. You can seek the help of a professional if necessary. The same can be said for Dyson vacuum cleaners that are not cordless. Always check your power connection.

Power Supply Problems

The circuit breaker, wall sockets, and other power supply components in your home could be the primary cause of the issue. When the power supply is interrupted, the device will switch itself off to protect itself from damage.

To troubleshoot this issue, check the circuit breaker and wall sockets for any signs of wear or tear. Make sure all connections are secure and that there are no loose wires. If you identify any problems, contact a licensed electrician to have them fixed.

Note that unless you are a qualified electrician, never attempt to fix power supply issues yourself. Doing so could be dangerous and could cause further damage to your device. Therefore, it is always best to seek professional help.

Improper Voltage Settings

The Dyson Airwrap is designed to work with a variety of voltage settings. If the device is set to an incorrect voltage, it will shut down automatically.

To fix this issue, you should check the power settings on your device and make sure they are set correctly according to the manufacturer’s instructions. The voltage setting should be the same as your home’s power supply.

The most common voltage setting is 110-120 volts; however, some models may require a different power setting. Consult your user manual or contact the device’s manufacturer for more information.

When resetting the voltage, make sure to unplug the device and disconnect it from any other devices before making any changes. After adjusting the settings, plug in the device and turn it on to see if the issue has been resolved.

Incorrectly Connected Attachments

Sometimes, the device may switch off unexpectedly if the attachments are not correctly connected. The Dyson Airwrap uses several different components and requires them all to be securely attached before use. Check your attachments and make sure they are firmly in place.

If you need to remove and reconnect any of the attachments, consult the user manual for proper instructions. Make sure all connections are tight and secure before turning on the device. If connecting a new accessory, double-check that it is compatible with your Dyson Airwrap model before purchase.

Overheating

There are many reasons why your Dyson Airwrap may be overheating and shutting off. This could include excessive use, a clogged filter, or blocked air vents.

Fixing this issue is relatively straightforward. First, make sure to give your device a break in between uses. Secondly, check the filter and air vents for any blockages or debris and clean them out if necessary. Additionally, make sure that the Dyson Airwrap is being stored in an area with good ventilation.

Finally, ensure that you are using the correct attachments and settings for your particular hairstyle. Using the wrong brush or setting can cause excessive heat buildup and result in your device shutting off.

Clogged Air Filter

The air filter in your Dyson Airwrap helps to prevent dust and dirt from entering the device. It is made of several layers of fine mesh that may become clogged over time.

There are several reasons why the air filter may become clogged. It could be because of excessive use, improper storage, or poor cleaning. Regardless of the cause, a clogged filter can lead to your device shutting off due to a lack of airflow.

If you suspect that the air filter is blocking the airflow, then it needs to be cleaned or replaced. Consult the manufacturer’s instructions for detailed cleaning tips and replacement procedures. The air filter should be checked regularly, as it is an important part of keeping the device running smoothly.

By following the tips above, you can determine why your Dyson Airwrap keeps switching off and take steps to fix the issue. If you have difficulty troubleshooting or need professional assistance, contact a qualified repair technician for additional help. You can also contact the manufacturer with any additional questions. With regular maintenance and proper care, your Dyson Airwrap should continue to provide you with salon-quality styling results for many years to come.

Hi, I just bought the brand new Dyson Airwrap (Vinca Blue/Rose) yesterday, and I used it for the first time today. However I facing issues of power shutting down, every time I started to blow my hair for just about 20-30secs.

I figured it out to be only happening when I use Coanda smoothing dryer. The rest are okay.

    Please help!!!

I have exactly the same problem! I brought mine less than a week ago, and on the second time of using it, it’s turned off! when I was using the Coanda attachment! I’m not very happy about this. This was a lot of money to spend on something for it to break on the second use. Can I return it what do I do?
