Duravit Wins the Red Dot Award 2019
Having already won the iF Design Award 2019, the jury of the internationally renowned Red Dot Award also honoured Duravit’s XSquare series.
The contemporary and elegant furniture range was produced in conjunction with Kurt Merki Jr. and features a striking, individual design. The symbiosis of varied materials creates the program’s unique look. The high-quality surfaces of the cabinets and vanity units are framed by quadrant-shaped chrome profiles, a striking design feature that lends the series a modern elegance.

A holistic effect is ensured by continuing the stylish chrome profile along the sides of the XSquare mirror. The mirrors sport a range of convenient features, including integrated mirror heating and a contactless, infinitely variable coloured light switching function. Warm light produces a pleasant ambience, while cold light is perfect for applying makeup. A memory function enables easy retrieval of the desired light colour and intensity.

Handle-free fronts with push-to-open technology provide the finishing touch to the elegant appearance, and offer the added comfort of smoothly closing doors.

The Red Dot Award “Product Design” honours the best products of each year. True to the motto “in search of good design and innovation”, a jury – around 40 strong – assessed the products individually as originals. The criteria evaluated by the international experts include the level of innovation and the functionality of the product in addition to the high quality of design.
