Duravit: Balcoon bathroom range by Patricia Urquiola
Combining simple geometries with timeless elegance, the new Balcoon bathroom range by Patricia Urquiola for Duravit offers discerning clientele a puristic collection with a strong design identity in the mid-range price segment.
By combining high-end features with first-class workmanship, it sets a completely new standard in the mid-price range, making the premium designs accessible to a wide audience. The objects in the series combine simple, geometric shapes with clean lines, creating a restrained, enduring aesthetic that also radiates warmth and accessibility.
“The design plays with height differences, overhangs and the layering of materials and textures, which is also where the name ‘Balcoon’ comes from,” explains Urquiola of the collection, which includes furniture, faucets, and tubs.
Apart from the striking multi-level designs, the designer also created an earthy terracotta tone for the Balcoon ceramic objects, which emphasises their haptic and material properties.
“Clay Terra Matt is the central colour of the new collection. A tone that makes the ceramic look even more authentic and handmade,” says Urquiola.
Also inspired by nature, other colours in the collection range from white to earthy browns and anthracite – ideal colour combos, allowing for individualisation.
