Cole & Son – The Contemporary Collection of Fabrics

Cole & Son celebrates 60 years of ‘woods’ with the launch of the Contemporary Collection of wallpapers and fabrics, now available locally through St Leger & Viney.

The design house of Cole & Son celebrates its extensive collection of contemporary designs with the launch of The Contemporary Collection, two complementary collections of wallpapers and fabrics. Design stalwarts such as the lusciously leafed Palm Jungle, the favourably flamboyant Flamingos and the strikingly understated and ever-present Woods, feature in a range of complementary and coordinating colour palettes showcasing how to mix and match wallpapers and fabrics with ease.

The Contemporary Collection range of eye-catching textiles are offered on a selection of beautiful cloths including; light and heavyweight linens, crisp cotton and luscious velvets, which sit alongside beautiful silk embroidery and striking jacquards suitable for a range of decorating needs. Upholding the design house’s commitment to innovation, Cole & Son’s printed velvets benefit from a superior quality treatment in which the cloth is custom dyed to Cole & Son’s unique colour palettes before overprinting with Cole & Son’s iconic designs, which helps minimise upholstery ‘grinning’. The collection also includes a selection of coordinating Cole & Son Colour Box Velvets; eight carefully curated plain velvets which can be used as a foundation on which to play with colour and pattern.

The Contemporary Collection of Wallpapers and Fabrics sit alongside the previously launched Icons wallpaper range and together the three collections form The Cole & Son Compendium, offering the best of Cole & Son contemporary design in a range of colour palettes and styles.

The Compendium launch coincides with the 60th Diamond Anniversary of the house’s iconic Woods design, which has become a mainstay of the Cole & Son portfolio since the design first launched as a screen-printed wallpaper in 1959. Woods celebrates the beautiful simplicity of the silver birch tree. The charm, versatility and timeless appeal of the striking design has seen it featured in a range of settings and styles, becoming one of the much-loved and enduring icons of Cole & Son and featuring across all three books in the Cole & Son Compendium.
