Plascon House Tour: Colourful Abode
Colourful design is not always easy to get right in stylish interiors. Too little colour and a home may feel sterile and uninteresting. Too much colour and it may overwhelm the senses. Today’s New Orleans home, however, brings colour to life in a magical display of bright shades that evoke a sense of beauty and modern living.
Right from the entryway, designers have not shied away from bold colour choices. An unmistakeably yellow door sets the stage at the entrance to this playful abode. Together with sky blue seating and plenty of green blooms, the entrance is energy-filled and alluring – tempting us to come on in and explore the inside!
The interior does not disappoint. Without overwhelming, the living room boasts a beautiful blend of colours in accent furnishings that work to pull the entire look together. The space feels light and bright complete with stained glass windows, a glorious area rug and a mix of scatters in playful prints.
The bedroom too is a celebration of colour. The feature wall of greenery is very much on trend and provides the perfect backdrop for the colourful choice of linens and accessories in this space. A mix of colours and prints adds vibrancy here.
The enclosed patio area is also packed with colour and personality. From the oversized ferns that cascade above the space and bring a touch of greenery to this area, to the beautiful choice of patterned flooring. Colourful scatters hint at the colourful array of furnishings used in the interior – enhancing the indoor-outdoor living feel of this home.
