Vinwood offers master-crafted furniture from a unique source
Breathing new life into old wine barrels, Cape furniture designer Vinwood is recycling discarded cellar items into pieces of masterfully crafted furniture.
With a passion for crafting unique indoor and outdoor furniture from reclaimed French oak, Vinwood sources age-old wine barrels and casks from the winelands of the Western Cape where they are transformed in simple yet timeless designs. 
It’s not hard to see why each piece is a collector’s item: with a unique approach to preserving each piece of barrel, all Vinwood’s items of furniture incorporate the markings and numbering on the staves left by the craftsman who made these items decades ago. The skill of Vinwood’s master craftsmen is evident in the finish of their products and the authentic way in which they have preserved our provicial heritage.

We salute sustainability in South Africa and will be keeping an eye on Vinwood to see what is next in store for them.
