Maison Numéro 20 Redefines Riviera Elegance at Villa Miraé

Tucked away in the pine-scented calm of Cap d’Antibes, the newly reborn Villa Miraé has quietly reclaimed its place among the Côte d’Azur’s most refined addresses. Formerly known as Impérial Garoupe, this iconic five-star Relais & Châteaux hotel has reopened its doors after an eighteen-month transformation led by Inwood Hotels, who acquired the property in 2023. The vision behind its reinvention was entrusted to celebrated interior architect Oscar Lucien Ono, founder of Maison Numéro 20, whose signature aesthetic blends Italo-Mediterranean elegance with artisanal warmth.

Inspired by the villa’s original architecture and its lush Provençal setting, Ono imagined the property as a small Mediterranean hamlet, complete with blush-pink façades, Roman-tiled rooftops, and Burgundy stone floors. Inside, the thirty-five rooms, including eight suites with private terraces, celebrate three Riviera themes: the sea, the sun, and the garden. The palette follows suit in shades of ochre, marine blue, and soft green, all harmonised through custom-designed furnishings and rugs by Maison Numéro 20, paired with handpicked Southern-inspired accessories.

The reception sets the tone with its quiet charm: woven Popus armchairs, Nobilis-upholstered seating, and a golden ceiling that glows like a midday sun. A mosaic by Antonin Lamotte gleams behind the desk, while Murano glass lighting and Italian-made bronze lanterns evoke understated luxury with a personal touch.

Dining at Villa Miraé is no less immersive. Under the creative guidance of three-Michelin-starred chef Mauro Colagreco, two distinct restaurants reflect a philosophy of sustainability, simplicity, and sensory pleasure. Amarines, the evening destination, is pure poetry – its nacre ceiling, sea urchin light fixtures, and mirrored surfaces creating a delicate interplay of texture and light. Miraé, the all-day terrace restaurant, embraces the spirit of La Dolce Vita with Riviera-inspired dishes served poolside in a breezy, sunlit setting that feels both nostalgic and new.

Villa Miraé is more than a hotel – it’s a soulful, sun-drenched escape.
