The structure is simple, self-sufficient. The base frame at first appears to be a square but is actually a trapezium which follows the outline of the backrest and seat. There is a clash between regular and irregular shapes in the appearance of the seat which, despite its apparent angularity, actually has a curved section to provide maximum comfort. Volant is different. The sofa is something between a Balenciaga gown and the robes of a Shogun, an ancient Japanese military commander.
