About VanderNest Furniture

VanderNest Furniture was established in 1976 by Lampies vanderNest, a woodwork teacher from Lydenburg in Mpumalanga, South Africa. Lampies did woodwork from home in his spare time. In July of that year he took what was then considered a daring – and even unwise – decision to start his own furniture business, which he called Nesthout Furniture.

From its humble beginnings with Lampies and his two employees, the company grew from strength to strength. In 2005 it was renamed as VanderNest Furniture (Pty) Ltd. Craftsmanship, quality & creating masterpieces were the goal then and still is today.

Today VanderNest Furniture is a second generation South African family owned business with its own factory under the leadership of Lampies’s son, Leon vanderNest.

VanderNest Furniture has become renowned for handmade solid-wood furniture, custom-made and designed in consultation with the client.
