The Supernova Chair features a combination of Gmelina wood, metal and a rattan weaving method known as solihiya in the Philippines. Solihiya is basically thin strands of rattan woven into sunburst patterns. When used for the backrest of chairs, it lets air flow through, providing comfort in the warmer climates.
