Go or Weiqi is an abstract strategy board game for two players in which the aim is to surround more territory than the opponent. Originating 4,000 years ago, Go is one of the most complex games in the world. It is said there have never been two identical games of Go, but despite this, Go is surprisingly easy to learn.
This complete set includes a Chinese bamboo board with engraved lines, pristine bowls with a beautiful light brown wash to hold the stones. A full complement of 180 white and 181 black ceramic stones, single-convex in the traditional Chinese style
About House of Chess
House of Chess began as a fun hobby between two friends, Elzanne and Estelle, who met in the summer of 2011 and were bonded by their children’s love of chess. They travelled together, meeting and consulting with the world’s most famous chess suppliers & shops.
Through these experiences they identified the world’s top chess producers in India, Greece, the Netherlands, Italy, Germany, China, Spain, the USA, Poland, the UK and many more countries.
Their collaborative strategy quickly set them apart, and they soon became the leading chess supplier in the Southern Hemisphere. By winter 2018, House of Chess established a retail shop in Johannesburg, South Africa, allowing customers to explore a vast range of chess sets, accessories and other games.
Though Estelle has moved on to pursue new endeavours, her impact on the company’s journey remains invaluable. She made significant contributions to the development of the business, and we are grateful for her years of commitment and dedication.
Today, Elzanne continues carrying forward their shared vision with an outstanding team of dedicated and knowledgeable staff.
