Celebratring 25 Years at Kiwinet

It is with some amazement that we look back to the very humble beginnings of Kiwinet, today celebrating 25 amazing years in business.  We chatted to the owner about this incredible accomplishment…

“I feel very privileged when I reflect on the incredible journey where I have met amazing people, and had the opportunity to travel to wild and wonderful spaces in many countries to enhance and create beautiful safe sleep sanctuaries.”

“We literally started off with 3 rolls of netting, 3 pairs of scissors, a single panel pattern for a hoopnet and one seamstress who worked 45 km away from our farm – and today we are a thriving team, a family. I started with employing our farm workers wives, initially rolling out the pattern and netting on our lounge floor, then moved into a converted cowshed and sent the cut netting to our seamstress with the local cigarette delivery gentleman all the way to Elim. Once a week.”

“Within the first couple of years we explored the world of Decorex, Rooms on View, Indaba and met and made our mark in the Hospitality Industry – ranging from Southern to West Africa. A four year stint in White River in Mpumalanga was an exciting period of growth and placed me on the doorstep of the Lodge Industry where I met many wonderful and valued clients who we still do business with today.”

“As the business grew, so did our staff and space requirements. In 2015 we moved into our custom-designed premises in Stanford where we continue to work with a dedicated, proud and specialised Kiwinet Team.”
