What inspired the Duette Colour on Demand series?

That’s actually a very easy question. We looked at our continent of Africa, with all her different tribes and nations. What do they use to differentiate themselves from one another? Colour. What do companies do to differentiate themselves from others? It all comes down to colour. So that was the inspiration behind the range. We wanted to offer custom colours that pop to make you stand out and create an ambience in your home. People may choose safe colours, like neutrals and earthy tones with black, white and grey. However, some seek a touch of inspirational colour to bring distinction into their homes. That’s what this range offers.

How many colours are available?

804 – all of which are available on colour swatches to help you make the right choice. Every colour has a code, so you can choose your desired specific colour. If a corporate company says they require a particular orange, we can offer it. Between the 804 colour options available to you, your chances of giving us a colour we cannot match are minimal!

In terms of quality, what can people expect?

People can expect the very same Luxaflex quality we are known for. We are the only supplier that offers a five-year warranty on all our products.

What is the approximate turnaround time for choosing a custom colour from the range?

The fabric is from our sister company in New York, so they cut it according to the size the client would order. They print the colour you want on the fabric and then courier it to us. So you can expect a lead time of about six to seven weeks for this custom made product.

What about dimensions?

We are importing the fabric from our US partners, so we can only go up to a specific width. So, for our courier sizes, we can go up to 2.2m width with a 3m drop. Currently our max limits.

How do you clean and maintain your shades?

Cleaning the shades is very, very easy. A microfiber cloth is the best thing in our industry, and we recommend using it when cleaning our products. We suggest wiping it down once a month. And if you cannot clean it this often, say, for example, it is a summer house or a coastal house that you don’t frequent very often, we suggest you use your vacuum cleaner’s small nozzle with long bristles and just vacuum! That’s it.

Will these shades fade over time?

The Duette is designed and engineered to insulate. That’s why it has evident cells and always has a backing. This is to help with heat reflection. So eventually, over a long time, the sun can damage just about anything, but with this added insulation, your shades will last a long, long time!
